Renowned football pundit Roy Keane has raised strong doubts about Jonny Evans after his return to Manchester United as part of Michael Carrick's coaching staff.
On 16 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Roy Keane, a well-known football pundit, expressed strong doubts about Jonny Evans, the former Northern Irish player, after his return to Manchester United, the famous Premier League club, in the coaching staff of interim manager Michael Carrick, who will serve until the end of the 2025-26 season.
Roy Keane said, "I heard that two weeks ago Michael Carrick was at the beach with Jonny Evans. Evans had left his role overseeing loaned players about 4-5 weeks earlier. Honestly, I was surprised when Fletcher gave him that job, and then when Michael Carrick came in and brought Jonny Evans in again. Isn't that amazing?"
"There’s praise for the team choosing Steve Holland because of his experience, but the other two, Evans and Jonathan Woodgate, are being questioned on this. It’s very ironic, especially Jonny Evans jumping straight to the senior coaching role. He has never even been a coach before. I can somewhat imagine Steve Holland’s approach on the training ground, but honestly, I don’t know about the others."
