Liverpool, known as the "Reds," is reportedly considering signing this well-known Premier League player to strengthen their squad.
On 16 Jan 2025 GMT+7, Teamtalk, a renowned football website, reported that Liverpool, a Premier League giant, is considering acquiring Sandro Tonali, a high-caliber Italian international midfielder from Newcastle United, during this summer's transfer window.
It is believed that Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, plans to upgrade the quality of the midfield this summer by seeking a player proficient in both defensive and offensive aspects of the game.
The player must also currently be playing in the Premier League to minimize adaptation time. According to the latest reports, Tonali, valued at £65 million, is Klopp's key target because he meets all the criteria.
The report adds that Liverpool has been in contact with Tonali since his time at Brescia and has closely followed the progress of the 25-year-old. This season, Tonali has appeared in 30 matches for Newcastle in all competitions, providing 5 assists.
Besides Liverpool, Juventus, a major club in Italy's Serie A, is also interested in bringing Tonali back to play in his homeland.
