Committed, the midfielder with seven championship titles is ready to join the "Red Devils," Manchester United, during this winter transfer window.
On 20 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Football Insider reported that Ruben Neves, the Portuguese national team midfielder for Al-Hilal in the Saudi Arabian league, is prepared to transfer to the "Red Devils," Manchester United, the Premier League giant, within this January, following preliminary negotiations.
Neves, 28, is set to end his contract with Al-Hilal after this season and wants to return to Europe. He moved from Wolverhampton Wanderers of the Premier League two and a half years ago. Although Al-Hilal wishes to keep Neves, they are willing to let him go this month if they receive a suitable offer rather than losing him on a free transfer in the summer.
The latest reports say Neves is ready to join fellow Portuguese teammates Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot at Manchester United if the "Red Devils" successfully agree on a transfer fee with Al-Hilal.
Neves has appeared in 21 matches for Al-Hilal this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 4 assists. He has won four titles in the Middle East, including the 2024 Saudi Pro League, the 2023-24 Saudi King’s Cup, and the Saudi Super Cup twice, in 2023 and 2024.
Additionally, Neves won the EFL Championship with Wolverhampton in the 2017-18 season and the UEFA Nations League twice with Portugal, in the 2018–19 and 2024–25 seasons.
