Caretaker Manager Michael Carrick Vows to Take on Premier League Leaders Arsenal

Michael Carrick, caretaker manager of Manchester United, has boldly announced his readiness to challenge Arsenal, the Premier League leaders.

On 24 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Michael Carrick, caretaker manager of Manchester United, is set to face Arsenal under the leadership of Mikel Arteta in the English Premier League at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 25 January at 23:30 Thai time.

After a stunning victory over Manchester City last weekend, United now face an even tougher test this Sunday as they visit Premier League leaders Arsenal. Carrick understands this is a daunting task but eagerly anticipates the showdown against Mikel Arteta's squad.

Carrick said, “I am really looking forward to this game. It’s a major challenge. They are a very good team with many strengths, so it will definitely be tough. They hold strong positions in both the league and Champions League for good reasons. We know this well and won’t underestimate them.”

“We feel the team is in a good place and will approach the match with positivity and enthusiasm, but we also know it won’t be easy.”

Manchester United, currently 5th in the Premier League standings, will face Arsenal on Sunday before hosting Fulham in early February. If the Red Devils earn positive results in these two matches, they have a chance to climb into the top four soon.

Carrick concluded, “We have a clear idea of what we need to do and how to get there. Credit to Arsenal—they have built their team and transfer plans very well. Mikel has done a great job. We have our own path and are working hard to reach that point.”
