The "Reds" Liverpool is reportedly preparing to sign one of the world's top players to strengthen their squad.
The renowned Spanish media outlet Fichajes reported that Liverpool, a Premier League giant, is considering signing Ousmane Dembélé, the French national team winger from Paris Saint-Germain, to Anfield.
Dembélé, 28, recently won the 2025 Ballon d'Or and is among the best players worldwide at present. However, recent reports indicate he is having difficulties renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, and Liverpool is ready to take advantage of this opportunity to sign him.
Liverpool believes Dembélé could be a suitable replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is expected to leave the team after this season.
Dembélé is demanding a contract worth about 60 million euros per year from PSG, so it remains to be seen if Liverpool is willing to pay that amount. The player himself wants to move to England to prove himself in the Premier League, and the chance to join Liverpool is very appealing to him.
Dembélé is a world-class player who can certainly add a new dimension to Liverpool's attack. Liverpool needs someone capable of dribbling past defenders and winning one-on-one duels. Since Luis Díaz left, Liverpool has lacked a player with strong dribbling skills, and Dembélé could fill that gap effectively.
However, the player must agree to reduce his wages for the transfer to happen. Additionally, reports indicate that Dembélé's future decision will take place this summer.
