Neville Rules Out One Big Team as Premier League Title Contender Against Arsenal

Gary Neville clearly points out one prominent team that is still not good enough to challenge Arsenal for the 2025-26 English Premier League title this season.

On 2 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Gary Neville, the former star player turned football analyst, expressed his opinion that Manchester City, under Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, is still not good enough to compete with Arsenal for the 2025-26 English Premier League championship this season.

Although the Manchester-based blue team has clinched the English Premier League title 6 times in the last 8 seasons, their standard seems to have dropped considerably this 2025-26 season. They currently sit 2nd in the standings, trailing the league leaders Arsenal by 6 points, and their latest match ended in a draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

Recently, Gary Neville commented, "They still don't look very good. They are not good enough, especially in last night's game against Spurs, where they should have closed the match in the first half. Manchester City fans may have been accustomed to the team's best standards in previous seasons, but now things are different. This season, they are behind, allowing other teams to get back into games multiple times, which will not be good for chasing Arsenal. They are likely to experience recurring periods of poor form."
