Carragher also drew comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, two former Manchester City players.
Rewinding to last summer, Florian Wirtz moved from Bundesliga's Bayer Leverkusen, nicknamed 'The Pharmacy,' to Anfield for a total fee of £116 million, approximately 5.002 billion baht. Initially, his performance was disappointing, showing no positive impact in goals or assists, and he was even dropped to the bench at times. However, the player has since been regaining excellent form steadily.
Recently, Jamie Carragher stated, “At first, he may have faced obstacles, but now he's beginning to show his quality. There’s no doubt how much potential he has. The Premier League no longer has a midfielder at Kevin De Bruyne’s level, but now someone close has emerged, Florian Wirtz. He is a player capable of delivering the same and, perhaps, somewhat like David Silva as well.”
