Latest Top Club Ready to Bid for Liverpools Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's forward, may transfer after receiving an offer from a Saudi Pro League club.

On 5 Feb 2026 GMT+7, foreign media reported that Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's forward, has become the top target of Al Ittihad, a Saudi Pro League team, to replace Karim Benzema, who is set to leave the club.

Previously in 2024, Al Ittihad offered £150 million to buy Salah but Liverpool rejected it. This time, although the Saudi league's transfer window has closed, it is expected that a bid for the forward will be made again during the summer.

The Egyptian player has long been a target for Saudi clubs despite having just signed a new contract with Liverpool in April last year. Rumors intensified after he criticized Liverpool in December before heading to the Africa Cup of Nations. This season, he has scored only six goals, so it's understandable he wants a new challenge, and several clubs remain interested despite his age.

The reason many Saudi clubs are linked with star players is that in recent weeks the Saudi Pro League has seen transfer news about many players, such as N'Golo Kanté, rumored to move to Turkish club Fenerbahçe; Karim Benzema, leaving Al Ittihad; and Cristiano Ronaldo, who wants to leave due to dissatisfaction with the management by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which has failed to support Al Nassr, his club. These issues have prompted efforts to restore the league's prominent football image ahead of hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
