"The Red Devils," Manchester United, are reported to have decided to permanently sell this notable player.
On 5 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that "The Red Devils," the Premier League giants Manchester United, will permanently part ways with Cameroon national team goalkeeper André Onana after this season.
Manchester United is reducing internal team expenses and has begun this plan, starting with Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who is set to leave after this season. Casemiro is the highest-paid player at the club, earning £350,000 per week, and his departure will significantly alleviate financial issues.
According to the latest report from Romano, 29-year-old Onana will also leave the team, this time in a permanent transfer. He is currently on loan at Turkish club Trabzonspor and appears to have already played his final match for the Red Devils.
Romano stated, “Who will be the next to leave the club? Certainly, this summer it will be André Onana.”
“Onana is currently on loan at Trabzonspor, and Manchester United’s decision is quite clear. They will not renew Onana’s contract.”
“The idea is to part ways and find a solution. There are reports in England about a possible return to Inter Milan, but I am not aware of that. Yes, his agent is in Milan but handling multiple deals, and they are there for other matters, not specifically for Onana’s move to Inter.”
“However, there will be several clubs interested in Onana. He will consider all his options, and what I can tell you today is that Onana will leave Manchester United to seek a new challenge in the 2026/27 season.”
