John Terry, the legendary former Chelsea captain, sharply mocked Arsenal for celebrating as if they had won the UEFA Champions League.
On 7 Feb 2026 GMT+7, John Terry, the Chelsea defensive legend, took a jab at the "Gunners" for overcelebrating after their second-leg Carabao Cup semi-final, where Arsenal edged Chelsea 1-0 in the final minutes (4-2 aggregate) to secure a place in the final against Manchester City.
This Carabao Cup final will mark Arsenal's first domestic final appearance since winning the FA Cup in 2020.
However, the scenes of celebration, which looked as if Arsenal had won the UEFA Champions League, did not sit well with John Terry. He told Metro, "I just want to talk about Arsenal's celebrations after the game. Let's not forget this is the Carabao Cup, not the UEFA Champions League final."
"To me, they celebrated excessively, which reflects how much pressure the club is currently trying to handle."
