"The Red Devils," Manchester United, are reportedly willing to let go of a prominent player to acquire a target player to strengthen their squad.
According to manchesterworld.uk, "The Red Devils," Manchester United, the Premier League giant, are prepared to include Manuel Ugarte as part of their offer to sign Italian international midfielder Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, known as the "Magpies," this summer to Old Trafford.
It is understood that Manchester United is looking to reinforce their midfield this summer to replace Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who will leave after this season. Recent reports indicate that Manchester United has set their sights on 25-year-old Tonali, who is currently at the peak of his career and is regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
However, Newcastle has valued Tonali at as much as £100 million, forcing the Red Devils to seek a plan that avoids such a huge outlay. They are ready to offer cash plus a player to persuade Newcastle to let Tonali join them, and that player is Manuel Ugarte.
Currently, Ugarte has not received much playing time under manager Michael Carrick, and the situation has been no different since Ruben Amorim was in charge. Many believe the 24-year-old midfielder’s future at the Theatre of Dreams is nearing its end.
Ugarte moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Manchester United in 2024 for a fee of £51 million including bonuses but has not met expectations. His market value has dropped to only £26 million, according to Transfermarkt.
Manchester United is not the only club interested in Tonali; Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Juventus are also closely monitoring his situation.
