Secret revealed: Two Premier League teams approached "Klopp" to be their manager after he left Liverpool.
On 17 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Mark Kosicke, Jürgen Klopp's personal agent and former Liverpool manager, revealed previously undisclosed truths in an interview with Transfermarkt, a renowned German football statistics website.
Jürgen Klopp decided to leave Liverpool in 2024 despite having two years remaining on his contract. He has since taken on the role of Global Head of Football at Red Bull, overseeing their various clubs. However, rumors continue that several major clubs remain interested in hiring him as manager.
Recently, Mark Kosicke disclosed that Manchester United and Chelsea, Liverpool's rivals in the English Premier League, had contacted Jürgen Klopp to offer him the managerial position after he departed the "Reds."
Klopp's representative said, "Even Chelsea and Man United inquired, despite Jürgen having clearly stated he would not manage another English club. These inquiries continue to come in."
"He is very satisfied with what he has achieved, and it remains remarkable to be remembered as one of the few coaches who managed only three clubs and was never dismissed."
"Before joining Red Bull, Jürgen might have managed the U.S. or England national teams, or possibly Germany, if Julian Nagelsmann hadn’t already been there."
Regarding the chance of Klopp returning to coaching or taking the German national team job in the future, Mark Kosicke said, "I don’t think that will happen soon because he is very happy with his new role and environment."
"Maybe someday he’ll say he wants to experience the locker room atmosphere again, but for now, he is very content with his current position."
"(Regarding the Germany national team opportunity) Jürgen feels a strong connection to the country. That question hasn’t arisen yet. I don’t think he feels obligated to do it at least once, but he does feel a duty that he can’t always refuse the job."
