Manchester United to Release One Star Player from the Team

The "Red Devils," Manchester United, are preparing to release one star player from the team this summer, despite having retained him earlier this year.

Ben Jacobs, a well-known football transfer journalist, reported that Manchester United, a Premier League giant, is planning to let Dutch international forward Joshua Zirkzee leave Old Trafford this summer.

Zirkzee, 24, has appeared in 16 matches across all competitions this season, mostly as a substitute, scoring just 2 goals and providing 1 assist. With Manchester United planning to revamp their attacking options to chase success next season, they are ready to let Zirkzee go. This move is expected to benefit all parties, as United will receive some transfer funds to strengthen the squad, while Zirkzee will likely gain more playing opportunities with another club.

Earlier in January, Manchester United informed Joshua Zirkzee's agent that the player would not be released during that period, as they wanted to keep him as squad depth until the end of the season. However, they have expressed willingness to allow him to transfer during this summer window.

Amid reports, Zirkzee has attracted interest from clubs in the Premier League as well as from Italy's Serie A, a league with which the player is very familiar.

Besides strengthening the attacking positions, Manchester United also plans to reinforce the midfield during this summer transfer window, possibly signing up to two players. Rumors link them with Elliott Anderson from Nottingham Forest, Carlos Baleba from Brighton, and Adam Wurtz from Crystal Palace.
