Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, spoke out after leading the team to a thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur in the latest Premier League match.
Mikel Arteta, the "Gunners" manager, said he was extremely happy with his team's performance after they won 4-1 away against the "Spurs" Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League last night.
Two goals each from Eberechi Eze and Victor Yokeres secured a crucial victory for Arsenal, putting them at the top of the league table and five points ahead of second-place Manchester City. It is also their first time winning four consecutive away matches at Spurs in 70 years.
Arteta said, "I am very happy and proud of the way we played, including the quality we showed coming here and securing the victory the way we did."
"We have to understand the beauty of this sport. For example, just a few days ago in the game against Wolves, we were equalized late, and looking back, I really don’t know how that happened."
"It felt like we hit rock bottom. We weren’t good enough, we were angry, upset, and ashamed, but that’s okay. Each chapter is part of the journey, part of the season’s history. It depends now on how we use that to shape our season, and this is the response we wanted."
Praising Yokeres and Eze, who each scored two goals, he said: "I think this might be Yokeres’ best game with us so far; both goals were perfect. Considering his overall performance, I think it was incredible. Eze as well—I’m very happy because he truly deserves it."
Regarding the title challenge, he said, "This is the Premier League. Ten games is still a long way to go."
