The "Red Devils," Manchester United, are reportedly in the running to sign one of the Premier League's standout players, valued at £50 million.
Football Insider, a well-known sports media outlet, reports that the "Wolves," Wolverhampton, a club fighting relegation in the English Premier League, is ready to consider selling attacking midfielder Matheus Mane to Manchester United this summer if they receive an offer of no less than £50 million.
It is clear that Manchester United plans to strengthen their squad by adding at least two midfielders this summer to improve quality in the middle of the park for the upcoming season. Likely, they will sign one defensive midfielder to replace Casemiro, who is expected to leave Old Trafford after this season, and one attacking midfielder to deepen their squad.
They have been linked with several quality midfielders, including Elliott Anderson of Nottingham Forest, Carlos Baleba of Brighton, Adam Worthon of Crystal Palace, as well as 18-year-old Mane from the Wolves.
Mane is one of the few players who have performed impressively for Wolverhampton this season, despite his club languishing at the bottom of the table in 20th place.
Mane joined Wolverhampton's youth team from Rochdale nearly two years ago and has recently established himself as a first-team regular.
Overall, Mane has played 20 matches in all competitions for Wolverhampton, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
Although Wolverhampton does not want to lose this player, their seemingly inevitable relegation may make it harder to keep Mane after this summer.
Therefore, the club is preparing for the upcoming situation by setting Mane's asking price at £50 million, as he still has a contract with Wolverhampton until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Besides Manchester United, Liverpool is also reportedly interested in Mane.
