Liverpool Beware! Liam Rosenior Signals Chelsea’s Bid for UEFA Champions League Spot

Liverpool beware! Liam Rosenior signals that Chelsea will compete for a UEFA Champions League spot.

On 4 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Liam Rosenior, Chelsea's coach, admitted that the Blues have less and less time and must secure a spot in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League to consider this season a success.

Since the 41-year-old took over Chelsea in January, the team has not won in three consecutive matches. The pressure mounts as Chelsea trails the top-four teams, Manchester United and Aston Villa, by six points before their away game against Villa on Wednesday night.

Rosenior said, "Chelsea’s successful season must end with qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. It has to be that way."

"Given the current situation, we still have a very good chance to achieve that goal. Also, winning a trophy would be fantastic, and I believe it is achievable."

Meanwhile, Arsenal, the league leaders, and Manchester City, in second place, are unlikely to miss out on UCL qualification next season, making the fight for third to sixth place a contest among Manchester United (3rd), Aston Villa (4th), Liverpool (5th), and Chelsea (6th).

Liverpool's earlier match ended in a 1-2 loss to bottom club Wolverhampton, presenting a golden opportunity for Chelsea to move closer to the top four.
