Andrew Robertson admitted he held talks about moving to a prominent Premier League club before deciding to continue with Liverpool, the top English team.
On 9 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Andrew Robertson, the Scottish left-back, admitted he engaged in talks to join another top Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur, before deciding to remain with Liverpool, led by Dutch manager Jürgen Klopp.
Looking back to the January transfer window earlier this year, Tottenham Hotspur approached Liverpool's vice-captain, Andrew Robertson, whose contract had only a few months left. Initially, Liverpool allowed Robertson to consider a transfer, but later changed their mind and retained the player, who also chose not to move.
"There were indeed talks between Liverpool and Spurs, but ultimately I decided I wanted to stay at Liverpool. I want to continue with Liverpool, and we made that decision together. I've never held back in my commitment. Over the past eight and a half or nearly nine years, I've given my all to Liverpool and will keep doing so until I'm no longer wanted," Robertson said.
