Former Arsenal Player Hints at Possible Clash with Spurs in Championship as Tottenham Faces Premier League Relegation

A former Arsenal player hinted he might face Tottenham Hotspur in the Championship after Spurs are close to Premier League relegation.,

On 6 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Tottenham Hotspur’s situation in the 2025/26 Premier League season has become critical after a 1-3 home defeat to Crystal Palace. This leaves Spurs with only 29 points from 29 matches, placing them 16th in the table and just one point above the relegation zone, with only 9 matches remaining amid still lackluster performances.

Moreover, in the remaining 9 matches, Spurs must play away games against teams competing for UEFA Champions League spots, including Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Spurs themselves.

Recently, Jack Wilshere, former Arsenal midfielder and current manager of Luton Town in League One, was asked about the possibility of his team earning promotion and potentially facing Tottenham Hotspur in the Championship next season.

Wilshere responded, “My dream right now is to lead Luton up to the Championship. Yes, I do think there’s a chance we could meet Spurs there. I’ve watched some of Tottenham’s recent games.”

“I’ve talked about this many times. Several people in my family are Spurs fans, and over the years, we’ve often discussed the possibility of Spurs getting relegated.”

Jack Wilshere came through Arsenal’s academy before joining the senior team in 2008, playing at Emirates Stadium until 2018.

Now 34, he has transitioned into coaching, starting with Arsenal’s under-18 team, then serving as assistant coach at Norwich City and briefly acting as caretaker manager before parting ways with the club.

In the 2025/26 season, Wilshere took over as manager of Luton Town, who currently rank 11th in League One with 47 points.
