Gary Neville reveals potential benefits if Tottenham Hotspur are relegated from the English Premier League in the 2025-26 season.
On 13 Mar 2026 GMT+7, renowned football expert Gary Neville revealed potential advantages if Tottenham Hotspur, under interim Croatian manager Igor Tudor, were to be relegated from the English Premier League in the 2025-26 season.
Currently, Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in a precarious position, ranking 16th with 29 points from 29 matches. They are just one point ahead of 18th-placed West Ham United, who sit in the relegation zone, with nine games remaining.
Recently, Gary Neville stated, "I'm not suggesting anyone will be relegated because relegation is never good for any club. If Spurs go down, it’s not good for the club or its fans because this is a great team. But from a competition standpoint, it might benefit the Premier League. In the past, we believed newly promoted teams were favourites to be relegated again, but it’s not necessary for all promoted teams to go down. If a promoted team performs well, they deserve their place. If other Premier League teams are relegated, it creates better balance."
