Teams disappointed as the "Supercomputer" predicts which teams will qualify for the Champions League among Man Utd, Villa, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
On 16 March 2026 GMT+7, Opta, the football statistics expert, released the latest prediction from their supercomputer on which English Premier League teams in the 2025-26 season are most likely to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League following the most recent matches.
1. Arsenal (31 matches) 70 points
2. Manchester City (30 matches) 61 points
3. Manchester United (30 matches) 54 points
4. Aston Villa (30 matches) 51 points
5. Liverpool (30 matches) 49 points
6. Chelsea (30 matches) 48 points
Currently, league leaders Arsenal and runners-up Man City are unlikely to miss out on next season's Champions League spots, so the competition for qualification is among third-place Man Utd, fourth-place Aston Villa, fifth-place Liverpool, and sixth-place Chelsea.
Opta's supercomputer analysis shows that Man Utd has the highest chance among these four teams after their 3-1 home victory over direct rival Aston Villa. However, the "Villains" still remain in contention for a Champions League spot, ranking just below the "Red Devils."
Meanwhile, Liverpool's chances have diminished after drawing 1-1 with struggling Spurs, while Chelsea has the lowest chance following a 0-1 home loss to Newcastle United.
1. Arsenal 100% (previously 100%)
2. Man City 99.94% (previously 99.91%)
3. Man Utd 80.59% (previously 55.53%)
4. Aston Villa 56.49% (previously 58.24%)
5. Liverpool 33.29% (previously 40.35%)
6. Chelsea 23.15% (previously 41.40%)
