Sir David Beckham spoke about Bruno Fernandes after the Portuguese midfielder broke his record for most assists in a single season at Manchester United.
On 17 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Sir David Beckham, the legendary right winger of England’s "Three Lions," spoke about Bruno Fernandes, the Portuguese captain, following his successful breaking of the most assists in a single season record for Manchester United, the "Red Devils."
Bruno Fernandes provided 2 assists in the recent match where Manchester United defeated Aston Villa 3-1, bringing his total to 16 assists. This surpassed Sir David Beckham’s previous record of 15 assists set in the 1999-2000 season. Fernandes now trails only Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne—players from Arsenal and Manchester City respectively—who hold the Premier League single-season assist record of 20, set in the 2002-03 and 2019-20 seasons. Fernandes needs just 4 more assists in the remaining 8 games before the end of the 2025-26 season.
Recently, Sir David Beckham commented on Bruno Fernandes breaking his assist record: "Bruno Fernandes has now set a new record for the most assists in a single Premier League season as a Manchester United player. I believe he will break the Premier League's all-time assist record and other records as well. You can feel it happening—he’s truly world-class."
