Pereira Proud of Forests Fighting Spirit! Advance to Europa League Quarterfinals Despite Heavy Rotation, Prepare to Face Spurs in Relegation Showdown

Vitor Pereira is proud of Nottingham Forest's fighting spirit! The team advanced to the Europa League quarterfinals despite heavy rotation and now prepares to face Tottenham Hotspur in a decisive relegation battle.

Vitor Pereira, manager of Nottingham Forest, praised his team's determination and strength after their thrilling penalty shootout victory over Midtjylland, securing a place in the Europa League quarterfinals before their upcoming crucial Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur.

With an important relegation battle against Spurs on Sunday, Pereira took a risk by changing nine players from the lineup that drew with Fulham. This decision pleased the Forest boss greatly as his players proved they deserve to compete on the European stage.

"We are very happy, and we have proven that we are here to compete. We have good, talented players, and we played excellently in the first half," he said.

"I am very pleased because we did everything, tried everything, and I had the chance to balance the players' energy to prepare for the next game (against Spurs). It was great. I began making substitutions not because we were playing poorly but to manage energy and get ready for Sunday."

Nottingham Forest currently sit 17th with 29 points, just one point behind 16th-placed Tottenham Hotspur, with both teams in the danger zone as West Ham, in 18th, has the same points as Forest.

This match is truly a "six-pointer." If Forest win, they will leapfrog Spurs into 16th place immediately. But if they lose, the gap will widen to four points with only eight games left, putting them in a more critical situation.

Tottenham has a slight advantage as the home team, but Forest also have a chance since they rested nine players in the game against Midtjylland.
