Jürgen Klopp still admires his skills! RB Leipzig is keen to recruit "Gakpo" from Liverpool.
On 23 Mar 2026 GMT+7, British media Teamtalk reported that Bundesliga club RB Leipzig is closely monitoring the situation of Dutch attacker Cody Gakpo of Liverpool.
The report states that RB Leipzig is prepared to consider an offer for the Netherlands international forward if he is given the green light to leave Anfield. Notably, Jürgen Klopp, former Liverpool manager, now serving as the head of football for the Red Bull group, may play a significant role in advancing this deal.
Sources reveal that Klopp remains impressed with Gakpo’s skills since signing him from PSV for €42 million and having worked together over two consecutive seasons.
Although Gakpo has a contract running until 2030, last summer he was targeted by Bayern Munich, another German giant, before ultimately choosing to stay. This season, he has appeared in 42 matches, scoring 8 goals and providing 4 assists.
