A top club has emerged as the leading favorite to sign Mohamed Salah after he announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of this season.
Following Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian winger of Liverpool, announcing that he plans to bid farewell to Liverpool after this season,
TEAMtalk, a well-known football media outlet, recently reported that Al-Ittihad, a major club in the Saudi Arabian league, is the favorite to sign Salah. They are working hard to secure his transfer and negotiations are ongoing.
Salah is seen as a key player who will elevate the Saudi football league's development project, following Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr, who brought global recognition to the league.
The report states Salah has received an offer comparable to Ronaldo's current contract, which would make him one of the highest-paid players in football history, as well as appointing him as an ambassador to promote the Saudi league.
Among the possible destinations, Al-Ittihad is currently viewed as the front-runner. A source familiar with the situation told TEAMtalk, “This has been in motion since last year after a public conflict with Arne Slot. That was the beginning of the end.”
“This season hasn't gone as hoped, but Liverpool still hold hopes of winning some trophies.”
“This is a commendable move. Both Salah and Liverpool want this matter to conclude properly, and this marks the start of that process.”
Meanwhile, Betfair, a legal British betting company, has released odds on Mohamed Salah’s next club. A move to the Saudi Pro League is currently the most likely option, with odds of 13/10 (bet 10 to win 13, excluding stake). A move to Major League Soccer stands at 15/8, a return to former club Roma at 15/2, and a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning UEFA Champions League winners, at 17/2.
