The "Gunners" Arsenal shocks by preparing to sign one of Manchester City's stars to help chase the championship next season.
ESPN, a global media outlet, reported that Arsenal, a strong Premier League club, is considering signing Portugal international midfielder Bernardo Silva from Manchester City, known as the "Sky Blues," to Emirates Stadium this summer.
Silva has announced his plan to leave Manchester City after this season, ending nine years with the club where he helped win 18 trophies. Since joining from Monaco in 2017, he has scored 76 goals and made 77 assists in 452 matches under manager Pep Guardiola.
The 31-year-old player hopes to win his seventh Premier League title and has done everything possible to help City secure the championship, including an excellent performance in City's 2-1 victory over Arsenal last weekend.
Due to his outstanding form throughout his time at the Sky Blues, Arsenal is now preparing to sign Bernardo Silva to strengthen their midfield, add experience, and support the team's pursuit of success next season.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta previously worked with Silva when he was Pep Guardiola's assistant at Manchester City and is fully committed to this deal after successfully bringing Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to the Gunners.
Besides Arsenal, Barcelona is also interested in signing Silva. The La Liga giants are considered strong contenders because they can offer Silva high-level playing opportunities without displeasing his current club, as City would likely not want their player to join a direct rival like Arsenal.
