Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, praised his team's determination after their 1-0 away win over Burnley in the English Premier League last night. The winning goal came early from Erling Haaland, allowing them to overtake Arsenal to lead the table on goal difference. He emphasized that to have a chance at the title, they must win all their remaining matches.
Pep said, "We played very well but unfortunately missed several chances."
Speaking about the challenges following a tough game against Arsenal, he said, "Sunday’s match was very demanding. It’s not easy just three days later, but in the Premier League you have to adapt. We are used to these situations. We competed very well and truly played well."
"Sometimes it’s due to fatigue. I felt if we had scored 2-0 it would have been more relaxed, but it wasn’t easy because they defended with many players. We knew what we had to do to beat Burnley, and we did it."
"In terms of what I ask from the team and their commitment, they did excellently. We really played very well."
"Now we have the FA Cup on Saturday, and after that five more games remain. The only chance is to win every game, then we’ll see what happens."
