Chelsea Has Spent £100 Million on Manager Dismissals Since 2015

Chelsea has spent £100 million on firing managers since 2015, more than any other club in football history has paid in compensation for managerial dismissals.

On 23 April 2026, Chelsea abruptly dismissed Liam Rosenior despite his six-year contract, following poor results with no wins in five Premier League matches.

This sudden sacking is not Chelsea's first. Since firing José Mourinho in 2015, Chelsea has dismissed eight managers, spending a total of £100 million—more than any club in football history on compensation payments.

Currently, Chelsea stands 8th with 48 points, making UEFA Champions League qualification more difficult. However, they still have a chance in the FA Cup semifinals against Leeds United. Assistant Callum McFarlane will take over managerial duties for the remainder of the season.
