Impressive: Liverpool Chooses Alissons Successor, 10-Time Champion Valued at £52 Million

Impressive: Liverpool has chosen Alisson's successor, a player with 10 championship titles and a £52 million valuation.

On 30 April 2026, Team Talk, a renowned football media outlet, reported that Liverpool, a leading Premier League club, is seeking a new first-choice goalkeeper following the possibility that Brazil's national team star Alisson Becker might transfer during this summer's transfer window.

Alisson Becker, formerly with Roma, is rumored to possibly return to Italy's Serie A after contact from Juventus, despite having recently extended his contract with Liverpool until June 2027. This has led Liverpool to prepare plans to sign a new number one goalkeeper.

Recently, sources revealed that Diogo Costa, the Portuguese international goalkeeper of FC Porto, is Liverpool's top target as the replacement for Alisson Becker, who is currently deliberating his future at Anfield.

Diogo Costa, 26, rose through Porto's youth academy and joined the senior squad in 2019. He has played 244 matches, conceded 201 goals, kept 106 clean sheets, and won nine trophies, including two Portuguese league titles, four Portuguese Cups, one Portuguese League Cup, and two Super Cups.

Costa has been part of Portugal's senior national team since 2021, earning 42 caps and winning one major trophy: the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League. He is noted for his agility and skillful footwork.

This season, Diogo Costa is set to lead Porto to another Portuguese league title, holding a seven-point lead over Benfica with just three games remaining, while conceding only 15 goals in 31 matches.

Reports state that although Costa's contract with Porto runs until June 2030, his release clause is approximately £52 million (2.314 billion baht).
