Liverpool and Man United Disappointed as Target Player Rejects Summer Move

Both Liverpool and Manchester United face disappointment as their target player has no plans to transfer this summer.

CaughtOffside, a well-known football media outlet, reported that Aurelien Tchouameni, the French international midfielder for Real Madrid, has no interest in joining Premier League giants Liverpool or Manchester United this summer.

The 26-year-old Tchouameni has regularly featured for Real Madrid in La Liga this season, playing 29 matches and establishing himself as one of the most consistent performers for the club, which has drawn interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.

It is expected that Real Madrid will offload several players this summer, but Tchouameni is unlikely to be among them. Moreover, he prioritizes remaining at Real Madrid for at least one more season.

He prefers to sign a new contract to replace his current deal expiring in 2028 rather than move to another team. Consequently, the chance of a transfer is slim, much to the disappointment of both Manchester United and Liverpool.

Real Madrid's decision to keep Tchouameni in the near future makes sense. Although they face midfield challenges, these can be addressed by adding players with a style similar to Toni Kroos to play alongside him in midfield, as demonstrated successfully in the 2023-24 season when they won La Liga and the Champions League.
