Wayne Rooney predicts the team that will win the English Premier League this season, with one team left heartbroken.
Wayne Rooney, former England national team striker, is confident that the "Gunners" Arsenal will clinch the English Premier League title this season (2025-26) after a 3-0 home victory over Fulham last night, extending their lead over second-placed Manchester City to 6 points despite having played two more matches.
Additionally, Rooney said Arsenal will win their remaining three Premier League games against West Ham United, Burnley, and Crystal Palace to secure the title convincingly. He also predicted that Pep Guardiola's team will stumble and drop points due to a congested schedule near the season's end.
“I think Arsenal will win the title,” Rooney said on BBC's Match of the Day.
“I felt this way even when Manchester City beat Arsenal. I think the fixture schedule favors Arsenal more.”
“I think they will win all their remaining games, and I see City potentially dropping points in one or two matches.”
“I believe Arsenal might even have it easy, possibly winning the title with a 3-5 point margin.”
When asked why he believes City will drop points, Rooney replied, “I just believe so. Look, Arsenal have played excellently; they've been top of the table for almost the entire season.”
“I think Arsenal's style isn't the flashiest, but City's schedule is too packed, whereas Arsenal has been in this position for a long time. I think this year is theirs.”
