Vitor Pereira, Nottingham Forest's coach, erupted in anger after his team lost away to Manchester United in the latest Premier League match.
The controversy arose from a disputed goal during the match where Manchester United, known as the "Red Devils," won 3-2 against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford in the English Premier League last night.
The incident involved Manchester United's 2-1 lead in the 55th minute when Diogo Dalot crossed from the right flank into the penalty area. Bryan Mbeumo attempted to control the ball but the ball touched his arm inside the box before being blocked and falling to Matheus Cunha, who scored.
However, after referee Michael Salisbury reviewed the VAR monitor himself, he confirmed the goal for Manchester United, ruling it was not a handball. Vitor Pereira, Forest's coach, admitted he was deeply puzzled and wants the Premier League to hold a serious meeting to clarify the handball rules.
"The only regret I have about this game is that the outcome was decided by a decision I do not agree with. I reviewed the footage and tried to remain as calm as possible."
"But ultimately, I believe we need to sit down together to understand what constitutes a handball, what counts as a block, and what is considered a block inside the penalty area. Right now, we have no clarity on what is allowed or not, and often we do not understand the decisions, but I will have to accept them."
Speaking about the overall game: "It was a crazy match with many shifts in momentum and quick counterattacks. We played with heart and determination until the final minutes. We lost our balance and discipline in our play."
"United is very dangerous on the counterattack. They focus on winning the ball and immediately leaving 3-4 players to counterattack. That is something we needed to control but couldn’t, because we were also trying to push forward and score," Pereira said.
