An Arsenal fan was arrested after disguising himself as a security officer to watch his favorite team celebrate winning the Premier League.
On 26 May 2026, The Athletic, a prominent British media outlet, reported that in the final match of the English Premier League, Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Police arrested two Arsenal supporters who had disguised themselves as security staff to join in the championship celebrations.
A statement from the Metropolitan Police said, “Two men, aged 35 and 37, were arrested on charges of providing false information after security staff at Selhurst Park detained them attempting to enter the stadium on Sunday, 24 May. They were taken into custody and have been warned.”
Prior to the match, Crystal Palace implemented strict rules regarding home game tickets and season ticket holders, prohibiting ticket transfers to others. Fans had to be club members before December. Security measures and ID checks were intensified, accompanied by warnings that any fan caught reselling tickets would be banned from purchasing season tickets or renewing membership the following season.
