A leading media outlet has revealed the favorite team set to acquire Elliot Anderson, the key midfielder of Nottingham Forest.
BBC, a well-known British media outlet, reported that Manchester City, nicknamed the "Sky Blues," has become the favorite over Manchester United, the "Red Devils," to sign Elliot Anderson, the English midfielder from Nottingham Forest, to strengthen their squad this summer.
Manchester United's executives do not want prolonged negotiations or to pay a large sum to finalize this deal.
This deal could set a new record transfer fee for an English player, surpassing Declan Rice's move from West Ham to Arsenal for £105 million in 2023.
Moreover, the player himself was never keen on moving to the Theatre of Dreams and prefers to join Manchester City, even though the situation may change following Pep Guardiola's departure as City manager.
Currently, there remains disagreement between Manchester City and Nottingham Forest over the transfer fee for the 23-year-old, but Manchester City still have a better chance than United.
Anderson transferred from Newcastle United to Nottingham Forest in summer 2024 for £35 million, has played 92 matches, scored 6 goals, and helped England's under-21 team win the European Championship last year.
