Man Utd looks unfavorable as UEFA reveals the latest European club rankings after the 2025-26 season with a new leader.
On 4 June 2026 GMT+7, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced the European club rankings following the end of the 2025-26 season. Paris Saint-Germain, the French Ligue 1 giant, successfully defended their UEFA Champions League title by winning on penalties against Arsenal, the most recent English Premier League champion.
It turns out Bayern Munich has surpassed Real Madrid to become UEFA’s number one club before the start of the 2026-27 season, even though the "Bavarians" lost to PSG in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League semifinals.
The ranking system uses a five-year cumulative points method, where scores depend on club performances in European cup competitions and are calculated using a weighted algorithm.
Aston Villa, Europa League champions, climbed the most, rising 29 places to 17th, while Chelsea dropped 5 places to 12th after losing to PSG in the Champions League round of 16.
Meanwhile, Manchester United fell from 11th to 21st, having not participated in any European cup competition last season.
