Man Utd Plans to Offload 3 Players This Summer

The "Red Devils," Manchester United, are reported to be preparing to let three players leave the team this summer.

BBC and Sky Sports, prominent British media outlets, reported that Manchester United plans to offload three surplus players from Old Trafford this summer after reaching an agreement to sign Brazilian midfielder Ederson for £35 million.

Ederson is set to be the first player signed by United since Michael Carrick was appointed permanent manager, with only the medical examination and official unveiling remaining.

The 26-year-old is expected to officially join Manchester United in July, ahead of the club's pre-season training, signing a four-year contract.

However, Ederson will be just the first of potentially three central midfielders Manchester United plans to sign this summer, with Premier League players Elliot Anderson, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali also considered possible options.

Manchester United is planning a major midfield overhaul, not only due to Casemiro's departure but also considering the potential exit of Manuel Ugarte.

Ugarte has underperformed since his £50 million move from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, being overlooked under both Ruben Amorim's and now Carrick's management.

United is aware that offloading Ugarte may be difficult due to his high wages and may consider loaning him out if they cannot secure a suitable transfer fee for the player who will participate in the World Cup with Uruguay.

Ugarte is not the only player Manchester United hopes to move on; Old Trafford executives are also seeking solutions for Dutch winger Joshua Zirkzee and Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana.

Onana has already been informed that he is not part of the club's future plans after spending this season on loan at Trabzonspor.

Additionally, Manchester United will try to sell Zirkzee following his second disappointing season, in which he scored only two goals.
