Liverpool Decides After Top Club Approaches to Sign Key Reds Player

Liverpool, known as the "Reds," has been in the news after deciding not to sell a key player despite approaches from a major club.

Sky Sports Germany reported that Bayern Munich, a giant of the German Bundesliga, has lost the chance to sign Rio Ngumoh, Liverpool's promising winger, after Liverpool confirmed they will not sell him.

Ngumoh made his debut for Liverpool under manager Arne Slot in a 4-0 FA Cup win over Accrington in January 2025 at the age of 16 years and 135 days, becoming the youngest player ever to start a match for Liverpool.

Ngumoh scored two goals, including a late winner, in his Premier League debut as Liverpool defeated Newcastle 3-2 in August, and he also provided an assist during the 2025-26 season.

His impressive skills have attracted the attention of Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany, who even personally called Ngumoh to persuade him to join Bayern at Allianz Arena this summer.

However, Liverpool has clearly stated that Ngumoh is part of the club's future and will not consider letting him leave Anfield.

As a result, Bayern is now shifting focus to signing two players: Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt and Ismail Saibari from PSV Eindhoven. If these deals succeed, Bayern is unlikely to sign another left winger, as both players can cover that position.
