Arne Slot Set to Lead Major Club After Parting Ways with Liverpool

Arne Slot, former Liverpool manager, is close to securing a new team after parting ways with the Reds.

Following the shocking announcement by Feyenoord, a major club in the Dutch Eredivisie, that they have dismissed Robin van Persie as head coach despite leading the team to a league runner-up finish and securing a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League.

Recent reports state that Arne Slot, currently unemployed after leaving Liverpool, has become the leading candidate to become Feyenoord’s new head coach.

Slot previously managed Feyenoord from 2021 to 2024, during which he led the team to league and Dutch Cup titles. His achievements there, along with guiding Liverpool to the English Premier League title, have impressed Feyenoord’s new technical director, Dave Rix, and new general manager, Robert Einhorn, who are eager to bring Slot back to help the club.

However, it won’t be easy for Feyenoord, as Slot is attracting interest from multiple clubs. If they fail to secure him, other intriguing options include Oliver Glasner, who recently led Crystal Palace to win the UEFA Conference League but has since decided to leave the club.

Another candidate is Walid Regragui, former Morocco national team coach who guided Morocco to the 2022 FIFA World Cup semifinals, making them the first African team to reach that stage.

Regragui parted ways with Morocco in March, citing fatigue as the main reason. With a record of 36 wins in 49 matches, he is also considered a strong candidate for Feyenoord’s managerial position.
