Liverpool Miss Out as Target Player Agrees to Join Another Club

Liverpool, known as the Reds, have suffered a complete setback after their target player agreed to join another desired team.

The Athletic, a prominent English media outlet, reported that Yan Diomande, the Ivorian winger from RB Leipzig, prefers to move to Paris Saint-Germain, the Ligue 1 giant in France, over Liverpool, the well-known Premier League club. Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Diomande has accepted a five-year contract offer from PSG.

It is understood that Liverpool, under the management of Andoni Iraola, is urgently seeking a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who waved goodbye to Anfield after last season. Diomande’s speed, technique, vision, and ability to play on both wings have made him one of Liverpool’s top targets.

Liverpool has admired this winger for some time, as he delivered an outstanding performance last season in the German Bundesliga, contributing to 20 goal involvements over 33 matches. They had previously approached him regarding a deal, but while they were trying to secure the player, they faced competition from Paris Saint-Germain and ultimately lost out.

According to the latest report from The Athletic, Diomande has clearly chosen Paris Saint-Germain, two-time European champions, as his next club if he decides to leave Leipzig this summer.

The 19-year-old player is captivated by the project of PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and is eager to play under coach Luis Enrique. Diomande also feels he will have more consistent opportunities to compete for trophies if he joins PSG.

Recently, Romano posted on social media that "Yan Diomande has verbally agreed to sign a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain. The terms regarding salary and other agreements have been finalized. He wants to go to PSG, and negotiations between the two clubs have already begun."
