
Official: Manchester United unveils its first new signing, revealing transfer fee, contract, and jersey number.
On 13 July 2026 GMT+7, Manchester United, the prominent Premier League club, officially confirmed the signing of André Santos as their first acquisition of this summer's transfer window, arriving from fellow league club Chelsea.
André Santos signed a five-year contract with Manchester United, running until June 2031 GMT+7, with an option to extend for one more year. The total transfer fee amounts to £50 million, consisting of an initial £48 million plus an additional £2 million in bonuses. He will wear the number 17 jersey.
The 22-year-old midfielder previously captained Brazil's youth national teams up to the under-23 level and won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025.
Last season, André Santos appeared in 43 matches for Chelsea, achieving the highest pass accuracy and the most forward passes per 90 minutes among Premier League midfielders under 22 years old.
Prior to that, André Santos was loaned to Strasbourg, where he served as captain on several occasions and delivered an impressive performance with 11 goals and 5 assists.
