Official: Manchester United unveils their second new signing as another player appears likely to leave the Red Devils.
On 14 July 2026, Manchester United, a prominent Premier League club, officially announced the signing of Karl Darlow as their second new player in this summer's transfer window, following the introduction of Brazilian midfielder André Santos yesterday.
Karl Darlow signed a contract with Manchester United until June 2028, with an option to extend for an additional year, and was given shirt number 12. The 35-year-old goalkeeper has appeared in 279 matches, including 74 Premier League games last season.
Karl Darlow competed with Lucas Paes to become Leeds United’s first-choice goalkeeper in the latest season, keeping five clean sheets and helping the team avoid relegation before his contract expired and he moved to Manchester United on a free transfer.
Karl Darlow will serve as the club’s second-choice goalkeeper behind Senne Lammens, following André Onana's loan move to Trabzonspor in Turkey for one season. It is also anticipated that Turkish national goalkeeper Altay Bayındır may transfer away during this summer.
