Man Utd keeps strengthening, announcing the signing of another new player to help chase the championship.
Manchester United, the Premier League giant known as the "Red Devils," has confirmed the signing of Belgian international midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, nicknamed the "Villans," for a fee of £35 million. He has signed a five-year contract, lasting until June 2031.
Tielemans, aged 29, previously played for Anderlecht in Belgium, where he won two league titles, then moved to Monaco in France, followed by Leicester City and Aston Villa respectively.
He was a key player in Aston Villa’s UEFA Europa League-winning squad last season, making a total of 134 appearances for the club and scoring 10 goals. He is also the captain of the Belgian national team, which reached the quarterfinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Tielemans is Manchester United’s second new midfielder signing this summer, following Andre Santos, who joined from Chelsea last Monday. Tielemans will wear the number 18 shirt.
