Liverpool has chosen a new winger, and the transfer fee has left them stunned.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Premier League giants Liverpool have made France international Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain their number one summer transfer target.
Liverpool is searching for a new winger to replace Mohamed Salah, who bid farewell after last season. They have been linked with several wide players, including 23-year-old Barcola, who has impressed with both PSG and the French national team. Romano confirmed Barcola is Liverpool’s top priority.
"Barcola is Liverpool’s number one target. Liverpool love Barcola. I don’t know if it will be financially possible, but what I can say is that Liverpool are very interested in Barcola," Romano said.
Although PSG do not want to sell Barcola, regarded as one of the best wingers in the world, the player desires a more significant role. This has proven difficult amid PSG’s star-studded attack under coach Luis Enrique.
PSG has not announced a price for Barcola. They hope to extend his contract, but it is difficult as Liverpool persistently pursue him. It is expected PSG will demand no less than £100 million for Barcola.
Barcola performed excellently for France in the 2026 World Cup and has been vital to PSG, contributing to 62 goals over the last two seasons, helping the club win back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles and numerous domestic trophies.
