Red Devils Rejoice: Manchester United Receives Good News Ahead of Premier League Season, Eyeing a Championship Comeback

Red Devils rejoice as Manchester United receives the awaited good news before the Premier League season starts, aiming for a championship comeback.

On 28 July 2026, The Sun, a well-known British media outlet, reported the latest good news for Manchester United: Benjamin Sesko, the Slovenian international striker, will be fully fit in time for the start of the 2026-27 English Premier League season.

Benjamin Sesko has not played for Manchester United since the Premier League's Red Devils derby at Old Trafford, where they defeated Liverpool 3-2 on 3 May, due to a shin injury. This also caused him to miss the early phase of pre-season training for the new campaign.

The 23-year-old striker had an outstanding first season at Old Trafford, scoring 12 goals and providing 1 assist in 32 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions.

Sesko missed the pre-season friendlies against Wrexham and Rosenborg because he was undergoing rehabilitation at Carrington, Manchester United's training center.

However, the latest reports indicate that Benjamin Sesko is likely to participate in Manchester United’s next friendly match against Atlético Madrid on 1 August.

Sources also predict Sesko will start in the friendly against Paris Saint-Germain on 8 August, followed by two more friendlies against Leeds United on 12 August and AC Milan on 15 August.

Afterward, Manchester United will begin their 2026-27 Premier League campaign with an away game against newly promoted Hull City on 22 August.
