talkSPORT, a well-known sports media outlet, reported that Tottenham Hotspur, a strong Premier League club, is preparing to submit a £30 million offer to sign England international striker Marcus Rashford from Manchester United this summer.
Last season, Rashford was loaned to Barcelona, where he impressed by scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
However, Barcelona declined to make the transfer permanent and instead spent £69 million to sign Anthony Gordon, a winger from Newcastle, forcing Rashford to seek a new path since regular playing time at Manchester United seems unlikely.
Earlier reports indicated Arsenal's interest in Rashford, but recently it has become Tottenham who is ready to make an initial £30 million offer to Manchester United. Tottenham's coach Roberto De Zerbi believes he can bring out Rashford's best potential.
Tottenham has strengthened well this summer by signing Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke for a combined £237 million, and Marcus Rashford could be their next addition.
However, the deal's success depends not only on the transfer fee but also on Rashford's current weekly wage of £325,000 at Manchester United.
This is the main issue. While Tottenham may afford the transfer fee, the overall package remains expensive. Such a wage level could disrupt locker room balance, especially for a player nearly 30 years old (28 years).
Besides Rashford, Tottenham is also interested in Savinho, a Brazilian winger from Manchester City, who is younger, earns less, and has a higher resale value, potentially fitting better into Tottenham's current model than Rashford.
