Romano Confirms: Newcastle Has Decided on Arsenals Pursuit of Bruno Guimarães

Fabrizio Romano himself reports that Newcastle has made a decision regarding Arsenal's pursuit of Bruno Guimarães.

On 5 Aug 2026 GMT+7, David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, two prominent football journalists, simultaneously reported that Newcastle United has agreed to sell Bruno Guimarães to Premier League rival Arsenal for £75 million.

Although Arsenal initially offered a much lower amount and Newcastle sought a higher fee, the two clubs eventually reached a satisfactory agreement.

This means the 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder can transfer to Arsenal as he desires.

Bruno Guimarães' former club, Olympique Lyon, is entitled to 20 percent of Newcastle's profit from this sale, expected to net them around £7-8 million.

All parties have reached a verbal agreement on the £75 million fee, and Arsenal plans to conduct Bruno Guimarães' medical examination within this week.
