Liverpool has been hit by a series of injuries, especially on the right-back side, where three players are sidelined simultaneously. Joe Gomez and Jeremy Frimpong were injured during the preseason tour in the United States, while Conor Bradley remains out for several more months.
On the left-back side, Liverpool lost Andy Robertson, who left for Tottenham after his contract expired. This sparked rumors linking Liverpool with versatile full-back Jaidon Spence, capable of playing both left and right sides, who impressed with England at the 2026 World Cup.
Additionally, Jaidon Spence seems open to a move after not securing a guaranteed starting spot at Tottenham. Tottenham’s left-back is likely Andy Robertson, while Spanish international and 2026 World Cup winner Pedro Porro holds the right-back position.
However, Liverpool Echo recently revealed that Jaidon Spence is not currently among the players Liverpool is considering in this summer’s transfer window, and the club has no plans to recruit new defenders at this time.
