Arteta vents frustration after Arsenal's home loss to Dortmund.
Mikel Arteta, manager of the "Gunners" Arsenal, expressed dissatisfaction with the result after a 2-3 defeat to Borussia Dortmund, missing out on the 2026 Emirates Cup title. This marked Arsenal's second consecutive pre-season friendly loss, following a 1-3 defeat to Real Betis. He affirmed plans to strengthen the squad if the right players are found.
Arteta said, "We lost the match, and of course, we are not happy about that. There are many things to improve, and some players need more playing time."
"Some players have trained more or less than others, and some did not play in the World Cup at all. I want to know what they have been doing and how their physical condition is."
"Signing new players? That's what we are trying to do. If we find the right players in the transfer market, we will try to complete the deals."
Regarding new signing Bruno Guimarães, "I'm pleased to have him on the team. We have clearly seen the energy he brings to training sessions."
"The ambition, the desire to reach the next level—we want players who are hungry and have that kind of character."
