Fabrizio Romano, the highly reliable transfer market journalist, declared the phrase HERE WE GO!!! confirming that "Barça" Barcelona, the giant club of Spain’s La Liga, has reached an agreement to sign Rodri, the Spanish international midfielder from "the Sky Blues" Manchester City, for 70 million euros, signing a four-year contract until June 2030.
The initial transfer fee for the 30-year-old midfielder is 60 million euros plus a 10 million euro performance-related bonus. This figure satisfied Manchester City, allowing Barcelona to complete the deal successfully.
Rodri agreed to personal terms with Barcelona without issues and decided to return to play in his homeland, as he wished. Manchester City acknowledged and approved this transfer.
This deal became possible after Barcelona agreed to sell Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain for 50 million euros, providing the funds and wage space needed to secure Rodri.
Rodri leaves Manchester City after establishing himself as one of the world’s top midfielders. He has been a crucial figure in the club’s success over recent seasons and is recognized as one of the standout players ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
