Man Utd succeeds in securing a Premier League star for a total fee of £70 million.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano declared 'HERE WE GO!!!' Manchester United, the Premier League giant, has reached an agreement to sign Carlos Baleba, midfielder of Brighton "Seagulls," to Old Trafford.
The transfer fee for 22-year-old Baleba to Manchester United is £65 million plus a £5 million bonus.
The Cameroonian midfielder has been granted permission by Brighton to travel for a medical examination with Manchester United on Saturday. If all goes well, Baleba will be officially unveiled as a new Manchester United player.
Baleba has an ankle injury but it is not a major issue. He will be the third midfielder to join Manchester United this summer, following Andre Santos and Youri Tielemans.
This ends Baleba's year-long wait to join the Red Devils. Twelve months ago, Brighton valued him at £115 million, but United patiently waited and finally secured him at a significantly lower fee.
Manchester United will start the 2026-27 Premier League season with an away match against newly promoted Hull City this Saturday.
