Man Utd, take note: Rooney lashes out after the Red Devils lose away to Hull City in the Premier League.
"Rooney" unsurprised!!! Man Utd lose away to Hull City // No urgency even after falling two goals behind.
Wayne Rooney, former England international striker, said he was not surprised that his former club, the "Red Devils" Manchester United, lost 0-2 away to newly promoted Hull City in the English Premier League last night. He pointed out that even after falling two goals behind, the team showed no urgency and praised Hull for identifying United's weaknesses and exploiting aerial play.
Rooney said, "Hull’s style of play was very good. They stuck to their roles and worked hard, which is what they have to do to try to survive in this league."
"It’s clear they found Manchester United’s weakness by trying to deliver crosses into the penalty area and took advantage of that very well. What they did was to try to collect as many points at home as possible. This is a good start."
"Previously, I watched Manchester United play AC Milan and saw they had problems stopping crosses into the penalty box. Hull seemed to exploit that weakness. They got the ball on the flanks, sent in good crosses, and caused problems for United."
"Hull defended well in the second half. They looked strong. United didn’t seem concerned about pace, and Hull was superior in both penalty areas, which led to their victory in this match."
"In terms of fitness, it can be tough for top clubs with many players coming from the World Cup. There’s a lack of intensity in pressing. Man Utd focused on defense but couldn’t apply pressure on their opponents."
"Ultimately, you want to see more, especially when they are 2-0 down. You want to see greater urgency."
